Amazing Locations: Jurmala, Latvia

A Baltic delight to discover is Jurmala in Latvia that sits along the Baltic Sea (Gulf of Riga) and holds some of the country's most attractive architectural delights, tourist hotspots and famously the long golden sand beaches where sun, sea and dining can be enjoyed.

Jurmala sits west of the capital of Latvia, Riga, and is easily accessible by train or by road. There are some amazing real estate which sit on tree lined roads with the famous pine-trees on the dunes and just minutes from the beaches. Some finer homes can be found in Pumpuri where high value well maintained property are on show with some being second / holiday homes of successful business people and celebrities.

The town centre of Jurmala once again displays a wealth of architectural photographic friendly buildings, almost Disneyland in style, many being of wooden architecture of the 19th-20th centuries. There are cafes, dining places, bars (even cocktail bars), small souvenir shops and more. You do all this in the almost Alpine freshness (many tourists come for the health benefits) of warm air and sunny rays during summer time with the tempting beaches (mostly flat and easy to walk across) just moments away by foot.

There are plenty of hotels to choose from if you wish to stay a few days as there are holiday rental property. Whilst there you should look to visit the likes of the Dzintari Forest Park, Great Ķemeri Bog Trail, Open Air Museum or pop in to spoil yourself at one of the countless spa locations.

Jurmala is a popular tourism destination for many and it gets very busy during the warmer months. Demand for residential property remains high and many invest in second homes for personal use or rentals.
